When Judah in captivity abode in Persia's land
They had a dreadful enemy who sought to kill their band
But through the Lord, deliv'rance came, from tyrants cruel and mean
A Hebrew girl of little faith became the Persian queen,
Became the Persian queen
And here her name I'd like to spell- E-S-T-H-E-R
Queen Esther, oh, we know her well- her fame has carried far!
